Project
Dolls House is a collaborative installation bringing together drawing, domestic objects and makeshift structures to explore the personal, the domestic and feminist readings of space. Using the form of the dolls house as a shared framework, the work stages memory, objecthood and the gendered body.
Criteria
-
Weekly exchange of personal objects (Dec–Jan)
-
Drawings made in pen and ink from each other’s objects
-
No hierarchy of scale (up to A2)
-
Ongoing sharing and documentation
-
Reflection
Working collaboratively shifted my usual solitary process. Drawing another’s objects introduced a sense of intrusion and being seen, which both constrained and reoriented the work, foregrounding questions of authorship, permission and small acts of resistance within shared space.
